The trick is timing the reel-in when a fish bites, tapping to keep the line tension in a safe zone while it fights back. It sounds basic on paper, but the little pull-and-release rhythm gets satisfying fast.

The whole thing runs on one hand, which is exactly what you want for a game you dip into between other tasks. Different fish behave differently, so you start paying attention to depth, weather, and where the shadows move. I ended up learning which lures pull the bigger catches through trial and error, and that slow discovery loop is the real hook.
